03 · How to prep
How should you prepare for the CDCP?
RUNBOOK · CDCP · Exam prep
- Learn the facility systems first: power path, cooling, redundancy topologies, safety. The exam assumes this foundation.
- Drill the vocabulary: N+1 vs 2N, concurrent maintainability, availability terms. These carry both the exam and the interview after it.
- Practice explaining systems out loud: the course is fast, and arriving fluent means the two days consolidate instead of introduce.
- Book the course through an accredited EPI partner and verify current pricing for your region at the source.

CDCP questions, answered
Is the CDCP worth it for a technician role?
It is the credential most often named in ads for facility-side roles, and it signals systems literacy quickly. But employers interview past the badge: the systems understanding underneath is what gets tested, which is exactly what you can prepare before spending on the course.
Does DataCenterPrep issue the CDCP?
No. The CDCP is issued by EPI through its accredited training partners. DataCenterPrep sells independent preparation material for the knowledge the course and the surrounding interviews test.
Independent prep material. Not affiliated with or endorsed by EPI.
