What engineer-reviewed means here
Engineer-reviewed is a specific claim at DataCenterPrep, not a badge. It means a practitioner with live-site experience checked the material against six criteria before publication, and that every figure traces to a source we can show you. This page explains the checklist, the credential behind it, and how often we re-check.
Who reviews the material?
Material is reviewed by a practitioner working in commissioning, and the credential we publish is exactly this: reviewed by a commissioning lead with 12 years on live sites. That claim is real and approved for publication. We deliberately do not publish the reviewer's name, and we do not publish photographs, staff counts or an advisory board, because we will not manufacture authority signals. An invented expert is the single most common trust failure in this category, and a name you cannot verify is worth less than a credential you can weigh. If that trade costs us a little credibility with readers who expect a headshot, we would rather pay it than publish a person who does not exist. When a reviewer chooses to be named, the name appears here and in the page metadata in the same edit.
What does the review actually check?
- Technically correct
- Every system description matches how the equipment actually behaves, not how a marketing page describes it.
- Safety-aware
- Nothing reads as an operating procedure. Scenario answers stay at awareness depth and defer to employer procedures and authorized training.
- Vendor-neutral
- No product or manufacturer is favored. Where a standard is named, the standards body is named with it.
- Generalized
- No real site, client, employer or project appears. Worked examples use a fictional facility.
- Sourced
- Every statistic carries its publisher, the year, and a link to the primary source. A figure we cannot source does not ship.
- Claim-checked
- Every number on a product page is measured against the shipped files before publish, and recorded in a claims ledger.
How often is it updated?
Salary bands are reviewed quarterly and currently carry an as-of date of 2026-08; the build raises a warning when any entry passes six months without a recheck, so a stale band cannot sit here unnoticed. Certification facts are reviewed on the same cadence, and any figure we have not checked against the issuer this quarter is shown as "confirm with the issuer" rather than guessed. Statistics on guides carry their publisher and year in the text, and anything older than twelve months is flagged for recheck. Published and updated dates on each page are real edit dates and are never bumped to fake freshness. When we get something wrong we correct it in place and record what changed, rather than quietly editing the page.
